Renee Jonker

Renee Jonker studied percussion with Frans van der Kraan at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. He has been playing with Slagwerk Den Haag, the Asko & Schönberg Ensemble, Ensemble Modern and doing so his pathway led to working over a longer period with the composers Karlheinz Stockhausen and György Kurtág. After a period of twenty five years performing contemporary music, he focused on promoting music (for radio and television) and in an educational setting. He is head of the Music Master for New Audiences & Innovative Practice at the Royal Conservatoire and director of the société Gavigniès, a private fund supporting innovation in music.
